Being raised in Canada's north, and then growint to 6'3" tall, I was obliged to make my own clothes.  Early experiments with leather, and cutting leftover leather pieces into "yarn", led to working with fur, and consequently Knit Fur.  The resultant fabric has fur on both sides, and is very flexible.  I've worked for almost 50 years with Canada's amazing, renewable, organic natural resource, Canadian Beaver!  My business was export worthy, and working with a telented Cottage Insustry work force of 200, we won many awards and introduced a new product to the International Fur Trade. It is important to me to support Canada's trapping community, as these hardy individuals are our "Environmental Antennae" blowing the whistle on polluters. 

After the excitement of runways in cities like Milan, Frandfurt, Shanghai and Montreal, I have downsized to a comfortable studio on my property, working with 4 associates,  creating Knit Beaver Fur garments and accessoires for individual clients for California to Tanmania.  We have a small retail space in Port Perry at Plum, Loco.  My goal is to get fir "Out of the closet". I make crocheted shawls which can be worn with an evening dress, or jyjamas.  Throws for the couch, hats, headbands, ponchos, and wonderful jackets tokeep yhou warm and comfortable.  All our Knit Fur items are actually washable, making it easy to "Honour our National Rodent".  Turly a Hand Crafted Canadian collector's item.
